Engineering
Engineering
Advanced ceramics are used in engineering including the following aspects: Masonry Projects, Offshore Engineering, etc.
Masonry Projects
Ceramic products for the construction sector include cements and cement-based materials, interior and exterior tiles, sanitary ware, non-refractory bricks, and other more complex shapes such as drainage, sewer, and chimney pipes and linings.
Offshore Engineering
The machinery and equipment used in on- and offshore engineering are operated under sometimes extreme conditions and increasingly on the seabed at depths of more than 1000 meters. Typical requirements for highly stressed components in this area include: ability to withstand high pressure, resistance to changing loads, corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, impact strength. Products made of oxide ceramic materials, such as Zirconia Ceramics (mostly YSZ), that are specially optimized for the specific application can easily comply with requirements of this type.
